Riot's FAQ sets a 25% RR reduction if everyone is Ascendant 3 or below and anyone sits outside the normal window, and 25% if the stack includes an Immortal. With a Radiant it's 75%, or 90% if anyone in the group is below Radiant.
- New accounts need Account Level 20 before they can play Competitive.
In practice, a Gold player and a Diamond friend can't duo in ranked. You can still play unrated together, or bring three more friends and accept the RR reduction.

If you had a good match with someone, add them from the Social panel with their Riot ID. A party leader can also generate a party invite code that other players use to join. Can you pay someone to duo with you in Valorant?
Before you pay anyone to play with you, know what Riot's rules say. In Riot's Playing Fair rules from July 2026, a boostee "could be someone paying for a service". Penalties can reach boosters, boostees and hitchhikers, and include account suspensions, rank reversions and, for repeated or severe abuse, permanent bans.
Riot's September 2026 Vanguard anti-boost update names another: "Paying boosters to queue with you on smurfs, even if you're playing on your own account". Riot says that gets an account suspended and its rank removed. Riot's Terms of Service ban sharing your account or login with anyone. They also ban "activity intended to 'boost' an account's status or rank".
Playing on your own account with a paid partner avoids account sharing. It doesn't remove the boosting risk, and nobody can promise you a rank. Three things stay away from what these rules target: playing on your own accounts inside the party window, learning together, and unrated games.
